I currently live on the Island of O'ahu in Hawai'i and like most people, especially baby-boomers like myself, love to travel and take vacations. Other than Hawai'i, my most favorite places to visit are Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Saltville, Virginia - where you can rent my Clinch Mountain Cabins, and Brooklyn, New York.

I don't know about your interest, but as far as mine go, I love Myrtle Beach Myrtle Beach for two reasons. First, I like the beach. But, more importantly my favorite restaurant (Rossi's) is located there. I'm telling you the food is so good there, I have, on many occasions driven there from Virginia and North Carolina just to have dinner and spend the night - it's the best Italian food I've ever consumed.
As far as Brooklyn goes, we'll I spent several years there growing up and later returned there to work in the late 1960's and early 1970's before serving in the United States Air Force for over 16 years. I know the streets well as I do Manhattan. But, here again there are many restaurant's there I like to frequent as well as shows and sites to visit.
My favorite restaurant is Junior's located on the corner of Flatbush & DeKalb Avenue in downtown Brooklyn - (Home of the World's Best and original New York Cheesecake). I ate there several times per week back in my early years and knew the owners Marvin and Walter very well - for my mother worked there for 40 years.
Over those 40 years, I tried to get that New York Cheesecake recipe but it was guarded better than Fort Knox. Now there's versions or it ready available all over the internet. Over the years I was able to pickup bits of information from the Chef's and approximately 15 years ago came up with the closest thing to it that you can imagine through considerable expense and much trial and error. However, when one of the Chef's retired, he passed me the original recipe through my mother. 100% of the populace that have tried both, say that the recipe I developed is better. As stated, there are many variations to the original recipe posted on the web, however, I found only one posting that is the true correct recipe.
Normally, I like to give things such as recipes away free. However, being as though it cost me forty years of my life and much expense to perfect my recipe, I'm selling my version of Joe's New York Cheesecake for a nominal fee of $3.00.

My most favorite time to visit New York is after Thanksgiving. The city is lit up and decorated and it's one of the most beautiful scenes in my minds-eye and one of my fondest memories throughout the years - Christmas shopping in downtown Brooklyn at A&S, Macy's, Manhattan and Chinatown. It's a beautiful scene that's very difficult to put into words.
As far as Saltville, Virginia goes, well here again I spent many years as a child there. As one of my best friends (Fred Singleton) once described it - Saltville is the most beautiful place on earth if you like the mountains and quiet solitude; and I agree with him whole hardly. As previously stated, I own property there, along with Cabins that I rent on a nightly basis. I love to go there and just sit in those cabins and gaze out at the mountains, watch the wildlife and just think different subject matters through and think about how wonderful life and been and how the Lord has blessed me and my family.

With that said, let me fulfill your next vacation. I know Las Vegas is one the most popular vacations spot in the world - along with Mexico, The Caribbean and Hawai'i.
